Liverpool it shall be...

So, it's been a little over two months since my last update. I've been working crazy hours at work, packed all my belongings and moved to my new flat, getting used to having my sis here and trying to 'get a life' when I can. So here is the first update... I have to be frank here. I know nothing about footy, be it Arsenal, Manchester United or Liverpool..but I had a friend who was crazy about Liverpool and so the stitching began..

Mother's Day stitches

In celebration of Mother's Day this year, I decided to stitch a little something onto bath towels for my *future* mother in law. I bought a soft fluffy cream coloured towel and a matching slighter darker cream aida band to match. I wanted to give it a romantic vintage feel to it so I stitched using dusty rose and mint green colours. On the sides of MOTHER, there are three tiny flowers and in one corner I stitched MD 2009 to give it a personal touch. Then I thought I might as well stitch one for my *future* father in law too. But I had a hard time deciding the colour of the towel for this one. I must have stood at the towels section in the store for a whole hour! At last, I decided on keeping it plain and simple (since he is a man), so I decided on a white towel, and I stitched the word FATHER in a smoke blue colour, and on each side there are a pair of palm trees.
When I finished, I realised it looks like a towel from a beach resort!
Here are the pair together. I hope B's parents will like their Mother's Day present.
I also decided on stitching one for my aunt later on in the week. She loves the colour purple so I got her a nice lilac coloured towel and used a darker mint green/aqua colour to stitch her name.
B's parents present all wrapped up.
For my mum, who by the way lives in Australia, I sent her a nice black coloured shawl and a tub of Sweet Petula's Shea Butter Ginger Blossom hand and body balm from www.sweetpetula.etsy.com
Well, that's all for now. I hope everyone loves their Mother's Day pressies from me and I wish all mothers out there
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!

Vintage Roses hand & face towel set

I had just completed this baby pink hand and face towel set yesterday. I hand stitched on a piece of aida band and then sewn it onto the towels. It consists of flowing vines with pretty pink flowers and the hand towel has tiny lovehearts on it too.

Mr and Mrs Farmer's Cow

Here is B's cow (now aka Mr and Mrs Farmer's cow) measured up and stuck on. I used the new 'Heat n Bond' iron on adhesive Ultrahold and I got to say they work very well. I'm very impressed by the product!
I've then measured the Dusty Blue satin ribbons I got and used that as a border.
Then I attached Mr and Mrs Farmer to the upper left corner of the cushion. They're sitting very pretty there indeed!
Here is Mr and Mrs Farmer close up. Cute as a button!

The Cow for B..

I had finished stitching this cow for B in 2007. If you're wondering why I stitched a cow, well, B has a liking for cows..anyway, it didn't take me very long to stitch, but when I had finished, I was like, 'hmm....so what am I suppose to do with it now?' so I've kept it in my stitching box along with a few other ones that I did not get framed.

I got a VIP member's card from Spotlight today saying they're having a 20% storewide sale tomorrow and it got me thinking maybe I should do something with this cow. I'm thinking this cow might look mighty fine sewn onto a plain cushion. Maybe a black or blue cushion cover. What do you reckon?

Sweet Cakes bib

I had fun stitching the cutie pie bib that I decided to stitch another one. This one is a pretty mint-green and pink cupcake that for me, has a vintage look to it. I've asked a few friends which one they like better and I've been getting mixed reviews. My sis likes the green cupcake better while my boyfriend went straight for the pink one. I am thinking of stitching another one now..but haven't made up my mind yet..

Cutie Pie Cupcake on Baby Bib

Cutie Pie Cupcake Baby bib Completed!
Exams finished last Wednesday and I've just been relaxing and chilling out..trying to get some stitching done before my last semester starts in the first week of March. I started stitching a pink cupcake on a baby bib yesterday afternoon and finished the bib today. I think it is really cute and looks better than the pics. I'm gonna put it up for sale on my etsy page so if you are interested, take a look at it here www.vintageroses.etsy.com

Update on 'Love' letters

Yes... I also realised that the colour of these two pictures do not match but it is more true to the first pic, the cushion is more 'maroony' than purple (despite what my camera captures!) I decided to just tie a pretty dusty pink and mint green satin ribbon on one side to keep it simple. This will be given as a Christmas present tomorrow night at a friend's place for our Christmas Eve dinner. Hope they'll like it!

'Love' Letters

Love is in the air...
I just finished this vintage 'Love' letters on aida band and it'll be sewn onto a cushion cover. I'm thinking a maroon coloured one will go nicely with the colours in this piece!
This is french knots galore!
